Murky 1
I'd like to see a boat leave Sydney and get to the Waitamata by only covering 1162Nms Didn't say Waitemata, just Auckland. Not so many years ago people were pretty cunning about getting from the west coast to the east and vice versa by taking advantage of the skinny bits of land. For all I know it measured to the boundary of the Super City which stretches in all directions further than the eye can see.

grant 40
i had heard a rumour that they may be arriving in wellington.... as far as i am aware, the current fastest across the tasman is one of the INCAT fast ferreis on its way to south america, Hobart to Bluff in 23hr 55mins . From memory it was the 'Patricia Olivia', quite a bit bigger than a jet ski, but in some parts of the world just as welcome
