Yeah well I certainly would and in fact, maybe head even further than that. I was looking through Marina and facility charges last night and wow was I shocked. Many of the Marina's have certainly taken a major price increase. I was also really shocked at what you pay for haulout costs and Hard stand and so on. Unbelievable. I can only assume ARC or whoever is charging the facilities unreal charges. With the competition, I can't see yards charging these huge amounts and being able to get away with it surely.

If you are asking about down here, then Havelock Slipway would be the cheapest.

It is possible they have had a small increase in charges by now. But when I last was up on the slip, it cost $250 for haul out. That's both ways, (includes splash back in) and the Waterblast is free. All up, it is ruffly $1K to have them Antifoul the boat using a full drum of paint.

$25/day if you have to stay out for a bit. If anyone wants to know more serious pricing, i would be more than happy to get the latest on that.

The only negative is that the cradle is not suited for stelleto type keels. Only big keels. They do not have a Shed high enough to put a yacht under cover without dripping the mast. So they painted mine outside. I was out for a couple of weeks when we had the repaint, because the weather was terrible. Wrong time of the year Oct/Nov for painting here. But they only charged me yard fees for the 6 days they actually worked on the boat.

These guys haul all the Big Mussel Boats which are huge. They use big Cradles on Rail tracks.

The other two yards are far more expensive. But mostly because they don't have decent setups. They have large Trailer units that will take about 60T. They pull boats out on the Launch ramp at High tide and then have to trundle the lot down to the other end of the Marina to their yards. Which are not the best of yards. The Trailers are micky mouse and so you end up being charged for labor for directing the boat on and off the trailer etc. One boat I helped pull out took four guys 2 hrs by the time it was down in the yard. That's a lot of labor. And the same for the splash back in. Then the charges for painting are stupid high as well. One yard is closing and I think due to the fact that to many have been very unhappy and are not returning the next year.

Sheesh, join Weiti Boating Club and then you'll get the best haul out rates around. Thinks it's $120 out/in. Then $2 per metre of boat per week & $25 per week for a cradle. Double all that if you're not a member. If you draw more than 2.3 metres you might struggle to get out though. Having said that you can't spray paint your boat. We have residential properties reasonably close by and OSH have stopped spray painting. Having said that we now know that you can achieve brilliant results with roller/brush, so no problem!

Isn't the Weiti BC in Stillwater East

There's always one isn't there! But to be fair no we're not as Still water are on the south side of the river and we're on the north side of the river, so you can't get to us from Stillwater! Unless you have a boat of course.

Keep going further North and you get to paradise, oh sorry Sandspit. There is a slipway shed, and a large tent (about 10m x 8m) to paint in. A great team and a talented painter. I'm not at liberty to quote (not my business) but PM me if you're interested. My boat 'Pulse' is positively gleaming after her re-spray at Lees Boat Builders.
