More people voted to spoil their vote than actually voted for the flag chosen

In other headlines from www.justmakeupanoldshitnews.com, Trisha the 3 nippled supermarket assitant was found banging ET behind the bike sheds. Local residents report seeing men dressed in black along with rumours of Will Smith being spotted near the scene.

9.7% of the votes are informal, which would include all deliberitly defaced papers.

More people voted to spoil their vote than actually voted for the flag chosen

Anyone think what this really about ? A distraction away from some real issue ? $26m on something this inconsequential should have alarm bells ringing....Example - .No money for the new cancer wonderdrug Keytruda ( A real coincidence  that name ) that only Doug Myers can presently afford... At $40000 a shot this  $26m would have given 650 shots and maybe saved even one life.Which may have been you.

I think it's been a highly successful process. A huge number by bi-election/referendum terms turned out. The system chosen got a result. Ignorance of polling methods isn't an excuse to continue to pour scorn on the idea. They nay sayers are really struggling to put a good spin on their predictions today. If you don't want to change, then you have your say next year. If you didn't vote this time then you blew the democratic right generations have fought for, not some stupid bit of cloth. I like the red but the black will do. Roll on 2016.

And 26 million is nothing in the whole scheme of government spending. They blow more on cocktail evenings and taxi's

Well yesterday I drove over the Harbour bridge the first time for ages, and saw the 2 flags....

The proposed new flag looks insipid and the black corner makes it look dirty compared with the real flag.

So you know which way I be voting.

The only flags with black on them are the ISIS flag and the Jolly Roger (I.e. Outlaw / Pirate flag, and not in the fun kids games pirates, but murdering bandits pirates).
Black is generally associated with the colour of death.
It definitely does not belong on a National flag.

That could be why no other national flags in the world have black on them...
