Romany 162
Anybody know anything about this? Supposedly yesterday in Auckland one of 2 (?) cats got it wrong Not sure if I am being mislead but a mate down country tells me he has seen pictures
RushMan 31
It is on their FB page Flipped, mast in mud, broken top mast section, towed to base upside down, all on board OK They don't have a lot of luck at this regatta, they dropped the big boat's rig in 2013(?) Kevin McCready 83
We used to call mast in the mud a "choc-top". If you broke the mast it was an "atomic choc-top".
Clipper 343
I see on the regatta website Vodafone has protested Excess? Anyone know what that's all about?
ballystick 72
With the popularity of catamaran sailing on the edge and the inevitable capsize, why can't the cats have a light halyard running to the top of the mast where in the event of the upturn, a gas cannister and inflatable bladder is raised (lowered) to the top of the mast and then deployed. This would avoid the mast in the mud and further expensive damage plus the cost would be minimal I would think.
Clive 13
I see on the regatta website Vodafone has protested Excess? Anyone know what that's all about? Nothing on the website yet .... it would be interesting to get an update. https://www.topyacht.com.au/protests/protests_prnt.php?ev=107.107.107.1.
Nate 2
Vodafone alleged that Excess failed to comply with Cat 5 safety regulations. The protest was ruled invalid and thrown out.
