I'm told Big Blubber will be carrying quite a significant handicap.
Those 2 x 6yos at the back of the pack will cause quite a food baby ;)

I thought this juxtaposition in the latest Westhaven newsletter was mildly amusing...

Jokes aside,

It would be really awful if that Leopard Seal came and investigated all the threshing about on the water's surface in all that seal / penguin imitation neoprene during the harbour swim.

Even just a curios investigation by the Leopard Seal would involve its mouth wouldn't it? same as how it 'playfully' investigates dinghies and dock fenders.

Went down for a swim at the pontoon next to the Whangarei Cruising Club trailer yacht compound.  Bloke there tells me the 'other' Leopard seal was sunning itself on it 2 days ago.

So I did the gentlemanly thing and bravely let the missus jump in first

Spotted it today.  It can up for a lung full next to my boat just off Onerahi.

I have just done the survey.

Would be good if lots of crew.org people could also complete it so that the researchers know how we feel about these animals inside a marina.

Leopard seals in marinas survey
We want to hear from anyone who utilises marinas in the Auckland and Northland regions and who is 18 or over. We are asking you to complete a survey that is 3 pages long and should take 5-10 minutes to complete.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much worth doing, as simply messing about in boats

Done, thx for the link!

That's a great post. I saw you had in this thread and was expecting the worse i.e 'I saw it back in GHM today'.

That would mean it'll be back giving us grief down here again shortly.

It is expected to come back.
