clareb 1
Any advice on where to find closed cell foam for cockpit cushions for use with sunbrella-type fabric? It's easy to find very hard mat-style close cell foam but the softer stuff for cushions seems to be scare in NZ.

clareb 1
Thanks Ed. I'm afraid Para only stock the hard stuff but I'll check out spotlight. I've also heard reticulated foam can be good. Anyone here made their own flat cockpit cushions that can offer some advice?

Vorpal Blade 89
What you need is called dry-pore foam, it doesn't hold water but is eye wateringly expensive. Looks like this... another option is to use a PE foam like this... Its cheaper and floats. This is what i used for all of my outdoor squabs and while firmer than the Dri-pore there has yet to be a complaint lodged about the comfort levels.
