my bad

symmetrical

was being somewhat facetious

6 people to crew a 9m boat at 10kn

seems a lot

Hahaha - so you had fun then?  I have to honest, I'm glad that Sin found enough crew, now think about the fact that Liz generally gybes that pole by herself ;-)

Actually, some of my best races were on a 930 with only 3 of us aboard - mast-head kite and all.  There's only one photo of use getting it wrong I think (Sundreamer - don't you dare!)

hey erice

It only takes 2 people to sail a 930. the other 6 are movable ballast to make up for the missing sticky out things that you're used to.

Ama's I think they're called.

Like trying to pull a masthead kite through an exit block dambo????

yes, well

we had 4 moveable ballast saturday

but only 3 sunday

and 1 a ham fisted old fulla that kept beating-up bulkheads, coamings, hatches etc.

the heavy weather crew

Chris - tactician + strings

Aiden - bow

Sin - helm

Jared - tactician + main

old fulla - keyboards + strings + bow + beers + lifelines

and those sport-boats and VXs looked a lot of fun downwind - until they broached

1 downwind leg the Ross was suddenly filled with a building, regular thumping sound that had our eyes searching frantically everywhere

until we looked over our shoulders to see a sport boat a few meters away skipping along from crest t crest

Aiden - bow

Sin - helm

Oh gawd, aren't those old school 930 cockpits just a horrible design for a work venue.
