Adrianp 120 Posted April 6, 2017 Share Posted April 6, 2017 For sale - Half share in Freedom - $12,500 I'm planning of moving up to big cruiser in a few months time, so I unfortunately need to sell out the most awesome boat ever - Freedom. Coen wants to keep his half so whoever buys in, needs to get along with him, which isn't hard. Freedom is one of the original double diagonal Kaihikatea GBEs but has had almost everything replaced or beefed up in the last few years, including:- New Mast- New Beams- Full sail wardrobe in great condition.- Cockpits raised- Bows chopped off- Sterns extended- Centreboards extended and cases stiffened She's got great race sails and it ready to go but is also well setup for cruising with a big boom tent, full electrics, stereo and a lift-on cruising pod that has sink, BBQ, water tank etc. Freedom is a good, quick and reliable boat. Some results over the last few years:- Coastal Classic - First 8.5 on line (2013) and Third (2014 & 2016) - SSANZ Series - Handicap winner 2015- Wednesday Series - to many results to remember but always consistently does well in these series - 2016-17 1st on Handicap RNZYS and 3rd in RYC The ongoing costs are pretty good considering the band for bucks ratio - About $90 a week. Get in touch if you want to come for a sail - be warned though that once you've sailed upwind at 11knots, sat on 20knots for hours or lounged around on the tramps at anchor, you can't go back to a monohull!
