Boatworks 23
IMG_1979.PNG Came across this one a while back on the H28 Facebook page.. thought it looked pretty good. Maybe the one that Boatworks is talking about. Yes I think that's the one. looks like Nelson so location makes sense, although the windows are different (bigger) than I remember - maybe the other one built that was mentioned in the advert. Here's the link to that page,..looks promising: https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=H28%20Yacht%20Owners%20Association%3A%20New%20Zealand%20dodger
Guest 000
Thanks for the links. That hard dodger looks pretty smart and pretty much what I had in mind. At the moment, mulling over (1) sewing a replacement sunbrella dodger (2) making a solid one a la photos (3) selling boat.
Addem 94
We're getting dodger made at the moment. Any thoughts about the need for clears? My view is the only benefit is it makes the area under the dodger brighter but otherwise they seem to degrade quickly and warp the shape. Also are not that great for forward visibility so you are always looking over it around it which makes the clear section redundant. Will put in a zip out section instead, so we can open it up on the hot balmy days. Any thoughts that this is not a good idea?
Battleship 100
With no clears it would probably look a bit unusual, the hard thing with a dodger is making it look the part. I set ours up so standing up I can look over it but can and do use the clears while steering seated, ours are on their 3rd year now and are still reasonably see through provided they get a wash every now and again. Also good to hang out behind the dodger at anchor when its raining and blowing to keep an eye on things through the clears.
Addem 94
Yeah. I am uncertain about how it looks without clears but can't be sure unless you try it. Also the old thing about if it's a good idea everyone would be doing it.
Addem 94
Now that's a great idea. I'll check it out.

I think this is the mould H28 hard dodger we were referring to: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boats-marine/parts-accessories/other/auction-1454131340.htm
waikiore 397
We have just had a new dodger made, got four people to quote, one priced it up immediately, one came back in three weeks never heard from the others....... The straight away quoter got the job and completed it a week early so got paid straight away. Obviously plenty of work out there in that game.
