Go with the 6. Better sails, better transmitter, better vang.

I went V6.  Couldn't decide which colour so got one of each.

Chatting to a punter down south who has a few and he reckons the 5 and 6 are the same speed, the 6 is just a little more refined in it's gear. If you have a 5 you can make it a 6 for not many bucks.

The price to upgrade to the new sails makes the v5 and 6 pretty similar anyway.
Also getting a set of standard sails for mucking around with.
Think i might have to get one of the boys a cheap v5 for their Christmas present....

Just scored 2 x V5's for sweet F A, nice.

I was trying to remember what the difference was between them and the V6, Thanks Clipper.

Definitely sails and remote, especially the remote big difference there. Haven't rigged them yet so have yet to suss the vang. The V6 'looks' more serious but then that's only cosmetic. But for less than 1/2 the price of a V6, I reckon they are still worth serious consideration.

The club is in the process of purchasing 6 of them for use at the club. There is also talk of some IOM's skippers buying them.
Oops I forgot the club name Northern Maritime Model Society (NMMS).

The Sloop and commodore.
