I am intrigued at the madness.  I cant see any value in bitcoin except hoping that some other sucker will pay more, still I am kicking myself that I didnt buy it at 10 bucks!

It will pop but when?

I'm not sure it will for some time. Bitcoin is a great way to pay internationally - direct, secure peer to peer payments. No banks, no fees. And, while you hold some, amazing exchange improvement.
Of course, crypto currency, like any other but more so, could loose its value overnight. It's all about confidence, like any other monetary system.

And because of such, it is the payment of choice in the underworld. Which is one of the reasons why it's value is increasing. It has once been over 25K in value. So it can certainly drop. Just weeks ago, it was over 7K in value and they had said the it was unlikely to go much higher, so be cautious. Now it is over 11K and those in the know are suggesting it could go over 20K again. Although they are also saying the bubble may burst soon after. I have no idea. We did look at Bitcoin mining. We have been wrecking some huge servers an could easily set up a system, but the power required, as in the electricity power, is huge. One guy here has a huge 3phase supply running into his building running computers.
A guy I know really well, now live in Wellington and owns a Century 21 franchise. A few years back, he bought a heap of sections in a development from Peter Yealands in a Bay in the Pelorous.Sound. There is going to be a Marina built for the Sections as well. I am not sure if they have been selling, but just this week he announced that they would swap a Section for 200K worth of Bitcoins. He said it was for a bit of fun seeing as no one has done anything like that before. I have no clue how the Taxman will involve himself in that one.

A few years back there was a news story going around that Lily Allen was offered Bitcoin to pay for a private concert. She declined, and a few years later when the story ran (2014?), what she'd been offered was worth over 110 million pounds.

Now I have to Google lily Allen and see who she is

her song about the anxiety

that now strikes many young woman

“I want to be rich and I want lots of money

I don’t care about clever

I don’t care about funny

I want loads of clothes and f**kloads of diamonds

I heard people die while they are trying to find them

I’ll take my clothes off and it will be shameless

Cause everyone knows that’s how you get famous”

Life's about film stars and less about mothers

It's all about fast cars and cussing each other

But it doesn't matter 'cause I'm packing plastic

that's what makes my life so f&^#(n' fantastic

I am a weapon of massive consumption

it's not my fault, it's how I'm programmed to function

Now I'm not a saint but I'm not a sinner

Now everything is cool as long as I'm getting thinner
