Yes I had the same today one came roaring past my bow while I was under sail close I could not see the ski only the riders head doing good speed , they are a worry ,

Do you get many rule breaking jet skis down Whitianga way

Actually jetskis have been pretty good. There aren’t many as Whitianga is more a retirement village as opposed to Pauanui where every jet setter holiday house has 3 of them.

 

Only issue here boat-wise is speeding in the channel. Against a 5 knot flow you can understand but some are powering up downstream once clear of the wharf.

Must get a bit tricky with the tide under you and the ferry crossing in front of you.
