Put a trimtab on back of rudder with idea that autohelm can hook up to it, and be very low on power consumption. Is it possible this will work?(No windvane)
Meanwhile it operates the tiller fine.

Should work but operation will be in reverse from if working on tiller, and will need to make sure the tiller pilot is not swung off center too much as the rudder moves. The pilot can be mounted in line with the boat if that works better.

Wharram cats use trimtabs connected by 2 lines from the actuator to a short bar at right angles across the top of the tab .
