Was it the last time the nurses had a pay-rise back in the 80's or 90's they got 23% increase, the DHB had to reduce the number of nurses, sent patients home on Fridays and reduce the numbers of nurses on in the weekends to cover the increased wage bill.

I can remember when I was servicing my time as a fitter & turner in a big engineering workshop, the boilermakers brothers would go out on strike for more wages, some how the F&T's would get the same increase without losing a hours pay.

Please don't try to put a date to this time period.....

Perhaps, if we don't want our Nurses all going to China (or any other country that treats them better) just like so many other NZ jobs have done, like the long lost fitters, turners and boiler makers, just perhaps, maybe we should pay them more...

Bollocks

Are you arguing with yourself now?

Perhaps you would be better off on Mike Hoskin's facebook page? Somewhere where there is less sailing and more niggle?

You know, the sky is falling etc, he has since deleted it. He was saying if you give nurses a rise then teachers will be next then govt workers. Then he said something about Winston etc etc

If you use the "Quote" button, it puts the post you are replying to in your post, so everyone else can understand what you are talking about...

Just saying...
