SloopJohnB 323
So whats your money on, only 15 hours to the start. Mid night tonight.
180S 20
Have some Dutch influence from my wife, and with Burling onboard and the home port advantage it would have to be Brunel. It has been such fantastic coverage with the drones onboard, watching those boats flying thru the Southern ocean has been a treat. Go Yellow !
raz88 96
I feel like mapfre has more often than not been the quickest boat and deserves the win overall. Plus normally when burling and tuke win stuff the media focussed on burling. Would be good to see tuke get a turn in the spotlight for a change. Despite all the detractors that seem to be out there, I still think this is an awesome race to watch. Yes there are pros and cons, but to me it's still an exciting race to follow. Great footage, plenty of drama and a close contest.

JK 28
Neck & neck between DongFeng & Mapfre - around 180nm downwind leg in approaching 30kn of breeze, going to be a hard night for them all!
muzled 140
Yellow 7 miles behind already. Ouch. That's gonna hurt when it looks like it could turn into a drag race.
Deep Purple 511
Why is the course different to the posted one?
JK 28
I also wondered that, originally they were talking in the order of 700nm, now around 900nm.
RushMan 31
Added distance so hopefully they finish midday Sunday Or so the fly by is during a certain time I can't remember which it is, don't really care as it will be at the wrong time for me to watch it either way

muzled 140
Bugger. Pretty epic finish though. Fortune favors the bold sometimes.
JK 28
Native, the in-port races essentially did only count for rum & would only come in to play to separate a draw in ocean leg points, which in the end only impacted 6th/7th. Also, the boat with the fastest elapsed time across all ocean legs actually won the race. There was an online interview with the TToP navigator as they made their way to the eastern side of the course, she seemed to think going down the inside/east was the only way to go & was expecting the boats more to the west to come down. Didn't look that way when DongFeng was 80nm behind with the others having 50nm to go... but came through in the end.
