Fish 0
Anyone know where to get polarized sunglasses for kids? The usual stores / sunglass stockists don't seem to do them. Might sound like OTT getting sunnies for kids, however there is some logic to this extravagance. Our boat happens to be moored in an area directly adjacent to a marine reserve. We are regularly seeing marine life around just at the yacht club or going to our boat on the mooring. Half the time the kids don't seem to believe me when I'm pointing something out in the water (like I'm doing the over exaggerated excited Dad thing)- accept I wear polarized sunnies and can see things clearly in the water, while the kids are squinting and looking at the reflection of the sun. Obviously I want to encourage the kids interest and engagement with nature and all things aquatic (so I can go sailing more.....) Yesterday I took my 3 yr old boy on an adventure, used the dinghy and outboard to go up the Okura inlet a wee way at low tide. Saw maybe 30 stingrays, and had a great time chasing them around and watching them swimming / flapping their wings etc. There is even a Parore (I think) that 'lives' by the dinghy pontoon the kids have named Mr Strippy Fish. Every time I get the dinghy out they go to see if he is there... Anyway, if anyone knows where to get polarized sunnies that might fit kids (and hopefully aren't too expensive) that would be great. Ex Machina 365
I know the feeling mate , being the only member of my family with polarised glasses I'm constantly passing my glasses around for kids/wife to see that "$&@! Kingie" that just cruised past . Never seen polarised in kids sizes but rebel sport does cheap polarised glasses for around $30 or so or you could pop some lenses out and dremel them down to fit kids frames . Fish 0
That looks promising Dan, website supplier that is based in NZ. The best I'd found so far were website suppliers in the US. Yes, Cazzate, we have seen good sized Kingi's around the dinghy pontoon at high tide. Always exciting... I'm glad there is not fishing off the dinghy pontoon - it would be hard to explain to the kids why someone wanted to kill Mr Strippy Fish for some fun.

DrWatson 374
I had the optician make some polarised lenses for my sunnies when you bought them. Cost an extra €30 on top of the standard frames (Police). They were the only frames I’ve ever found that fitted adequately but we’re not available polarised.
DrWatson 374
On a related note, this crowd make custom lenses for your current sunnies. https://www.thesunglassfix.com/ Full range of colours and styles to fit almost any glasses. Just ordered replacement polarised lenses for 49AUD, free postage.
madyottie 82
Our littlies have BabyBans. Polarized, and have a Velcro fastened neoprene strap instead of arms. They must be comfy, they actually keep them on, unlike hats, other sunnies, scarves' etc. I'll try to find out where we got them.
