Auckland council policy is if the design engineer provides details, calcs and a PS1, then it is accepted as a On Site Minor Vatiation Application. The trick is to have all the documents on site at the time of inspection. The design engineer is also to be on AC producer statement approved authors list. Unfortunately a lot of the residential inspectors lack knowledge and experience. Many are still on trainer wheels and work entirely to the tick box system with no ability to think for themselves or make a decision.
Thanks for that, will implement forthwith.
Besides, its too late by then, its built, connections inspectable and with PS1/3 of approved eng.
It would be a cold day in hell for them to demand removal.
Fortune favours the bold.
Guess it depends whether its is deemed a "minor" variation.
And on who you get at the cpu, and whether they are happy in life.
Turns out my consent app got "lost" at third party certifier after the last RFI.
C'est la vie.
