Priscilla II 392
Looks like the Imoca 60 will be the next design for the round the world race. https://www.volvooceanrace.com/en/news/12065_Agreement-will-see-IMOCA-60-boats-in-next-race.html
MarkMT 68
Cool. 8 tonnes vs 13. Love that they've done a full-size mock-up and are getting input from a lot of people. Interested to see Ray Davies in there.

southernman 73
They are truly insane cool looking boats. I would love to have one in my marina berth but not pay the associated costs
Fish 0
Faark those foils are long. They look like weapons like that. I can't even comprehend anything equivalent in industry or agricultural machines. Amazing to think even half of those foils can make it around the world in one go without breaking. Just just really hope that Volvo tinkering doesn't weaken the class for the Vendee. But using imoca's for the Volvo / the ocean race is a great move. Hopefully second hand boats will trickle down from each event to the other to increase entries. It'll be interesting where the development direction goes with these boats fully crewed, and potentially with more funding for premium development programmes.
Fish 0
Look upwards, sh*t loads of things with long foils have been in that space for a long time. How many monolithic airplane wings are you aware of KM? And how many are shaped in full C's?
Fish 0
I know of the exact same number of aircraft as I do boats that have monolithic foils of C or any other shape. That number is 0. Exactly.
