Or rather we DID live in a democracy. Many of this Govenments members and Ministers were rejected by their electorates but slid in the backdoor via a Party List. One Minister (NZ1) got 3000 votes and Nationals candidate got 17000.Shes a Minister ? Dress it up how you will but it aint democracy.! And I don't remember wanting a 'partnership'. I want strong responsible common sense Government where Representatives say what they do and do what they say with integrity honesty and commitment. .....

My only complaint about the current govt is they are pandering too much to the centre and right. I want them to provide world class health and education via taxes. If that means putting up taxes start at the top. Maybe a new tax bracket for really high earners. Or reintroduce estate taxes. Or no public funding for private schools and sink that back into the public system.
Business confidence survey? Who gives a shit. It is just a political poll where you know the outcome before you even ask the question.

Start by means testing the universal super payment.
If you have enough of a pile do the patriotic thing and at least donate it to a worthy cause.

The day that by paying taxes to a Govt. that then has bureaucrats design a system to dispense those taxes for the benefit of those taxpayers that actually achieves that will be a cold day in hell. Bob Jones hit it on the head when he said that you can spend your own money far more effectively for the benefit of society than any bureaucrat will ever do. e.g. Hospital administrators getting paid more, much more than doctors and nurses. And as for means testing. That costs more than it will ever save. Another bureaucracy !
