vic008 17
Dont like to comment but maritime incidents do need discussing. He lost forestay (rigged halyard so not a prob I would have thought), engine overheating (hadn't yet checked it thoroughly) , and steering jammed. So got taken off. Very experienced elder couple, capable and boat well stocked. And no insurance. Engine down worried them that no charging " cant power bilge pumps" A steel boat. Did they check steering quadrant?. Maybe decision making when old not so good? Maybe a lot of money at home? Curious.
