Agree there Muz, to a point.

The price rise of late is 50% market forces and 50% is new Government taxes. We'll ignore the possibly agreement that government policies, or lack of, are a factor in some of the market force change.

Yeah, fair call, I was over-generlising but either way wouldn't matter if the Simon Bridges, Kim Jong Un or Winston Churchill were sitting in the hot seat, chances are they'd all have given us the same tax rises.

One of the good things about not reading the herald or stuff diatribe is you miss most of the rabbiting on about something totally pointless.

The days of cheap petty are over, best we get used to it.

It looks like skypath is back up and going again. NZTA have done a bit of a redesign (i.e. changed the whole arrangement) and the cost is only $100M

Looks kinda cool in the video, but no more detail on the connections at the ends, guessing it will be similar to before

I heard a radio announcer yesterday spouting on how much secure the new design was as it's attached to the concrete pillars.......

The concrete pillars are not attached to the bridge, they are cosmetic and to stop boats and waves actually hitting the steel supports within them that the bridge stands on.

Not too sure how going from a 15 million buck project funded by other parties to a 100 million dollar project (plus the inevitable overruns) funded by the rate payer is the massive win for all Aucklanders as the assorted talking heads are claiming.
