Anyone got any recommendations? Trying to get mum to come up to Kerikeri for a couple of days while we’re home and it seems flying from Auckland is the best approach (TGA to Keri is too much $ and I couldn’t gaurantee she’d make a 30 min connection in Akl). She doesn’t drive so looking for solutions, from kati to akl. Jumped on the web and one way seemed to start at $270 which seems pretty eye watering.

Have you checked out the bus? Seems a long journey but by the time you have done flight connections, check ins, transfers etc it's about the same of not better depending on the timetable.

Yeah looked at that but 9 1/4 h is not really what I'd like to subject a slightly vague not always rational/logical 77 year old to. The 1.5h transfer in AKL central is as likely to see her wander off and not find her way back to the bus station as it is that she'll actually make the connection. Same with the intercity to Airport - there's a change in manukau which would likely lead to disaster.  At least a shuttle would presumably drop her directly at departures from where AirNZ can shepherd her.

Figured a shittle would be 2h + 40 min check in and 40 min flight, plus a bit of buggering around - Possibly less than 4h door to son.

A few companies offer shuttles Tga to Akl airport, they would probably pick up on Kati. Check the Yellow Pages or the net. Last time we used Luxury Shuttles was about $90 one way X Tga.
