Crazyhorse 47
I know there are a lot of these on the arse end of tenders around the place hoping someone might know the fuel capacity? Average run time on a tank? Searched the net and can find nothing.
Deep Purple 511
My Suzuki 2.5 four stroke holds a litre and pushes the dragon at 5 knots for an hour on a tank And it’s the lightest 2.5 four

nolipoli 0
I have a 3.3 Mercury - same engine but with a neutral/forward gearbox. I think its 1.4 litres. Run time is probably an hour I guess.
Crazyhorse 47
Funny, none of this is in the manual, mercury website, no one seems to know. Thanks for that, gives me something to work with.
Deep Purple 511
I’m amazed you can still buy a 2 stroke engine in NZ
Crazyhorse 47
I’m amazed you can still buy a 2 stroke engine in NZ Why?
Dtwo 157
I’m amazed you can still buy a 2 stroke engine in NZ The end of 2-stroke is coming, I've heard various dates.
Deep Purple 511
Why? Fuel inefficiency, emissions, oil into the water. In a lot of countries they are banned. The day is coming here as said
Deep Purple 511
In Aussie it’s in 6 months
Crazyhorse 47
Wicked! So lots of motor bikes going too? Briggs and Stratton farm engines?

nolipoli 0
I am considering selling my 1 year old Merc 3.3hp 2 stroke dinghy motor just so I can match fuel with the 4 stroke outboard on my yacht. That's the real pain in this transition period between 2 and 4 strokes... Anyone want to swap? I would consider any of the little 4 strokes (well the major brands anyway), plus some cash... ScottiE 174
I have a 3.3 Mercury - same engine but with a neutral/forward gearbox. I think its 1.4 litres. madyottie 82
Have to agree with Puff on the little Suzy. We get 4 knots for about an hour pushing the tri. Light, smooth and quiet. I need a slightly longer one, the prop lifts out unless I stand near the transom, not ideal when I'm trying to sort out sails etc.
