We are getting a lot more Government, local and nation wide, Depts paying by Card so I now charge them 2.5% for the pleasure. One asked why and got a 2 word reply 'It's reciprocal'.

Sounds to me like you forgot the scratching tax and pen use fee...

More than a third of the people who have died on Northland's roads this year tested positive for drugs, and police fear the numbers will continue to rise.

Northland road policing manager Inspector Wayne Ewers said methamphetamine use was a problem on Northland roads, which have the worst crash statistics in the country.

Toxicology results received for 10 of the 13 Northland road fatalities this year showed five had methamphetamine or cannabis in their system, while two also had alcohol.

but

Bigger speeding fines and more speed cameras could be on the way.

The Government is taking advice on road safety, and one suggestion is to follow the Swedish example.

Sweden's expected to have 3000 speed cameras in a few years.

In comparison, New Zealand has just 56.

The fines are also very different, with the top fine being NZ$320.

Be careful with how things are said. " More than a third had drugs in their system... " does not necessarily mean that they were intoxicated. I had a couple of wines last night. If I was tested now I would qualify as having "drugs in my system"

100% correct. The tests they talk of using 'it's what they use in Aussie', detect traces of drugs. They do not indicate the quantity of drug nor do they test or indicate the level of 'impassiveness'.

Sadly the government doesn't seem to know that. It's main protagonist, Chloe S???, sure didn't when she went head to head with Hoskins the other day. Sure Hoskins can be a right twat (but still a mere learner when it comes to his 'should shut her gob hole' wife) but he was right in the discussion. Just because a test shows a + it doesn't mean someone is too fucked up to operate.
