Priscilla II 375
Crikey why on earth did the skipper choose to fluff about tooting his horn then turn up into the freighters path simply leaves me dumbfounded. Damned lucky many did not perish. https://youtu.be/aXrTvVh4NOs https://archive.org/details/31014SportsParadeSeaGoingThrills

Fish 0
Got stuck in irons or what ever you call it when you don't succeed in tacking an old sailing thingee Didn't make stays?
Island Time 1,211
Seems to me the freighter is in restricted waters, likely to be over required tonnage to have right of way in that channel. The sailing vessel is the burdened vessel. All the sailing vessel had to do was bear away. Seems the command "hard to port" was misinterpreted by those at the helm, who put the tiller hard to port - hence to put the vessel to stb, right in the patch of the freighter. Its good practice, and easier on the ship's officers, if you dont get with 1/2 a mile, or better yet, a mile, of a ship.
