Zozza 291
“This was an unprecedented weather event that we have never experienced before and may never experience again,” said Westhaven Marina Manager Kevin Lidgard. “We can’t thank the marina team, and our liveaboards, enough.” https://www.westhaven.co.nz/westhaven-new/news-events/power-of-the-wind/ I thought "liveaboards" were unwelcome at Marina's these days. Certainly Westhaven will not allow any new liveaboards, and haven't for a number of years. I presume the ones that liveaboard there at the moment were there before the current policy enforcement of no "new" liveaboards.Maybe they, and other Marinas around Auckland need to have a good, hard look at themselves and their policies in light of these events. armchairadmiral 411
In the words of that dreadful TV commercial.....'don't be ridiculous' ! ...what next -review of policy ? What then, common sense and consultation ?
Priscilla II 376
It’s a ethos thing regarding Westhaven and liveaboards. Kevin’s mob and many before simply cannot see the wood from the trees. It will not change and the sea creature vs the management adversarial dance just continues adnauseam. Shame really to see how disconnected management of a marina can really be.
