What is the thing on top of the prod?

I've been trying to find a good picture of it.

All I can think of its maybe a frekin big laser ray gun, a speed radar or some other sensor kind of thing. Either way, its big, and appears to have a substantial structural element to the back part of it.

I'm assuming a boat this complex wouldn't use a wand like a moth does?

Bloody great that they had a bunch of apprentices working on the build , it’s the spark that’s needed to get raceboat building happening in nz again . Be interesting to know if the boat building facility they set up is a long term proposition or just for the two boats ? . Cooksons left a big hole that could be filled by an outfit like Regans .

So is that actually a bottle of champagne in a sock, on the end of a stick, in a tidy little bracket sitting on the prod?

Bugger, looks just like some really complex techo piece of gadgetry.

Radio control yachting has moved on a lot from us with the electrons....

I guess they can run electric dog collars around the grinders necks so they know when to wind..
