w44vi 17
Just wondering if someone could tell me how to remove water stains and some black mold staining, someone told me you could use something from the chemist, oxalic acid ? I couldn't find anything under the search function but if it has been covered before could someone point me in the right direction
1paulg 17
oxalic acid is good- just need to wash down with fresh water after and use gloves. Pharmacies can get it in for you -or you can buy from direct from a chemical company - cant remember the name of the one i bought from -but was East Tamaki -might be able to do a google and find some info on who stocks it. Good to polish gel coat after to help slow down re-staining - havent used it for mould but would prob be effective for that as well. Wash down well with water if it makes contact with any galvanised metal as will strip galvanising off.

Available at good paint shops (except Resene I think)

ab1974 1
No worries. Used it to clean some waterstains on my kauri tiller before revarnishing. Worked well but didn't get the stains out completely - but they were pretty deep. Certainly made them less visible so they are now just a bit of 'character'!
