Guest
Hi Everyone, I am looking for plans to build a Rothmans Father and Son. Any ideas on where I can get a set? Alternative designs considered, but I want a plywood construction, not to complicated, that will end up with a 2 man sailing dinghy that sails well. Not really interested in a Sunburst (yawn). Guest
Also try looking for a 'Phoenix' plans, which is what the RF&S's name became due to no tobacco advertising. Anyone actually know if the 'Rothmans' part of the name had any connection to the tobacco company or just did some dude called Rothmans get tangled up in it all?
Absolution 7
Have you looked at the Jolly boat (j14) ? Similar boat with much more activity in the class. http://www.jollyboat.co.nz/
Guest
Definitely recommend the Jolly Boat, ex father and son or father on own. Our club is looking at building several Jolly boats, will have them cut out on a CNC which will make them a quick and accurate build.
JK 28
What about this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Boats-marine/Yachts-sail-boats/Small-sailboats/auction-346202998.htm, would be cheaper than building! Also, http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Boats-marine/Yachts-sail-boats/Small-sailboats/auction-344454029.htm - which does kind of remind me of the Jollyboat, I used to have one & they are a good boat for the Father/son or just the Father when the kids can't be bothered. Active racing to be had as well.
