El Toro 97
So who knows anything about these? Anyone installed into their boat? Am interested in rough costings and who is able/willing to do it Cheers Tomo
Absolution 7
I had to resort to google that to figure out what a self aligning rudder bearing was. These Jefa bearings look like a clever piece of kit: http://www.jefa.com/products/general-info.htm I had the rudder bearings on Fineline redone last year. Even just having new delrin rollers made a world of difference.
Jon 360
Hi Tomo Just been down this track with our rudder rebuild Spoke to Pete Geary, Pettle and Greg Salthouse about it plus quite a few others and ended up re doing the bushes with Vesconite The Jefa bearings are available from a crowd on the shore and are what you would find in the fridges out of Europe and are quite reasonably priced but I felt no better at standing up to Kiwi conditions than what is required. JP3 is another option if you have just won lotto Salthouse use a local engineering shop to make theirs ?? I was told with the Visconite (or other names depending on maker) the trick is to not make the bushes to long so that any distortion in the shaft doesn't bind so no more than 2-3'' top and bottom
