I think they officially have to be above the sheerline

Room for improvement, but I thought OK for a first try. :-)

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much worth doing, as simply messing about in boats

Fitted the two new Secondary Winch mounts
Replacing the aging aluminium mounts.
Stoked. They look great and significantly more stable.

Yeap but often that can make them very vulnerable.

Nice work IT. Buggered if I'd have the patience for that.

About 4pm Saturday I'd finished the mumble mumble West Coast Brewery Organic larger and thought 'I'm sure I can, lets give it a go' so by 8pm I had 860kg of lead hanging off a old willow branch via some web strops of unknown age, an old mainsheet and a few other bits of old shitty crap plus a small come-a-long. At 8am Sunday morning when I saw where I'd got to I thought 'You utter dick'. I got away with it but it was so so SO sketchy. Older but seemingly not getting any wiser.

Looks fantastic IT.

Have you done upholstery before, doesn't look like amateur hour...?
Where do you get Naugahyde from...?

Thanks Sudden. It's a bit of work, I reckon took me 4-5 days in the end.
The naugahide came from sailrite in the US. It's a bit of a story, but I ended up with enough for this for free :-).
I've done a little sewing before - made mattresses for the boat and van, a few clears and covers, but nothing like this. The next one would be better! I learned this as I went along, mostly by watching sailrite videos on YouTube. Worth the time and effort, saved me 1000's in the end, and now I have another basic skill :-).
