Murky 1
I was only a young joker when I read "117 Days Adrift", the story of Maurice and Marilyn Bailey who ended up in a raft after their yacht Auralyn was sunk. By a whale strike I think, I am hazy on both that and the number of days. Anyway an unusual boat name being a combination of their two first names. So what are the chances of this boat being tied in? Setting aside the issue of the LPG explosion which would make me wonder if that is not the best name for a boat. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 077740.htm
Guest Rocket
Built in 1975 using resorcinol - and having suffered a loud bang - me thinks this is likely to be a kitset....
Murky 1
Maybe...copper rivets as well, there are plenty of boats holding together fine with just the rivets and no glue. I see you are a detail man Rocket!
Murky 1
Another one from the same era was the Robertson family - six of 'em adrift for 40 days and all survived, bloody amazing effort. Came across this interview with one of the sons while I was looking for background on the Baileys - interesting to read what happened after. And before. http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_q ... ntent;col1
