OYSTR 1
Those mirrored hulls look invisible at certain angles when its in the water
Guest
Fairly sure ETNZ and Prada are identical.. That was the whole idea behind them working together, two boat testing to see how they go etc.. Then they will split their separate ways... Time for some glasses. Just look at the foils if the foils are different then the hulls will be for obvious, well to some , reasons
Megwyn 2
I found this. Oh Thank You Farrari, I am quiet breathless now - that is one sexy boat.
Guest
So, when do we get to see this thing sail? And what level SPF do you need to wear to crew on it?
Megwyn 2
50+ absolutely.

Guest
Actually - that's a good point - why would you make it identical? A very easy way to make the testing program 3 boat! Exactly and the rules state only a certain number is allowed and its not 3. But thats not cheating is it? Only if its dennis Conner or Russel coutes.

Kiteroa 8
ETNZ also launched with mockup foils. So nothing new there.
ScottiE 174
But thats not cheating is it? Only if its dennis Conner or Russel coutes. No - definitely not cheating - the rules already prescribe the level of cooperation they are permitted. Conner will find it very hard to cheat this time round - not sure he's even involved. And I don't recall calling either a cheat so not sure what you're on about.

Nothing new under the sun! http://wingtheac.wordpress.com/2012/06/ ... ipes-us-1/

Yea Here is the Spec Luna Rosa Specs from The Daily Sail: Vital statistics Hulls length: 22 m Beam: 14 m Wingsail height: 38 m Maximum draft: 4.40 m Weight: 5,900 kg Crew: 11 Wingsail: 260 sqm Jib: 80 sqm Gennaker: 320 sqm Projected top speeds Upwind: 25 knots Downwind: 42 knots Sailing with no foils at present to see if the design is faster than ETNZ. by comparing - no doubt ETNZ has the same co-ordinates. Both will determine foils on the course verses no foils. Question - Is that allowed with in the rules.
Guest
Sailing with no foils at present to see if the design is faster than ETNZ.It will be no faster..................... nor no slower for at least 10 days, then it'll be slower.

I think it is smart to see which set up works. if theyrace a full AC course and the non foiler wins then what will you guys say? If the foils win then Prada can go to them and/or maybe even second generation of them to move the game forward. Oracle will learn from this too!

No idea JP, it all depends on what do you think we have said so far. From your many replies it's pretty obvious that it's knot what we think we have said.

Luna Rosa on foils ( DOWNDATE: Would you believe it actually foiled on their first day on sailing! Other teams foiled on their fourth day oooooon sailing) . She's sailing on one "L" foil and on two rudder "t" foils. No foil in windward daggerboard trunk when she was sailing. Testing which is faster -- foils or non foil sailing. She is getting some speed up - down now and heading for ETNZ Pass The Cheese Board and liquers.
