  1. Welcome to the T club - Great boats! We had a guy sail his to the Pacific and back so won't be long before San Fran Bay is holding you back and you're popping off to Hawaii!
  2. Not that I intend doing too much real racing, but why's that Native? I've been tending toward No. 5
  3. Did we get to a conclusion about the money shot antifoul. I’m starting to procrastinate again and just don’t have the time to do that! Hoping to re prime the boat tomorrow.
  4. Ashby owning the fleet again yesterday. Tuke sitting ahead of Burling! https://www.sailherveybay.com.au/live-results
  5. Wil - just south of Subritzky's in the Tamaki - quite a bit bigger to be abandoned!
  6. Sounds like it might be Tigre.
  7. Potentially a slightly longer walk perhaps, but harder?

    Panuku upside

How about their ability to slash their budget! https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/369200/panuku-continues-trend-of-huge-under-spend
  9. Perfection normally goes over 2 coats of undercoat and IIRC that should go over 1-2 coats of Interprotect or sim. if its a repaint. If you're rolling and tipping then you'll def. want to do a light sand between coats and so 2 coats would be the go. I painted Euphoria in this way outside at the Landing eons ago - the biggest drawback was my poor (eyesight and painting skill) painting white out in the sunshine. It's probably too hot to paint outside now in anycase.

    Houhora?

Brought a 1/4 toner back with a mate from Houhora in 2000. I still remember the tides - awesome stuff! Loooooog trip home!
  11. final results starting to be published for those finished
  12. Hamstrings at low tide
  13. Wow google Minerva reef and check out some the drone footage from the likes on Magique over the last few years
  14. Can someone point me to where the actual statistics described above are published please. Never mind -found it. BP I reckon you need to write a white paper on this and publish it here as well as submitting it to YNZ if you want to try remediate the system.
  15. I’ve just been informed through various yachting circles that Duncan passed away this evening. Duncan and co. are of course infamous with their exploits aboard Krisis. Not the least of which includes being instrumental amoung the members that brought into existence that great race we call ‘the Coastal’. RIP Cookie - . . . and until we meet again . . .
  16. Ptown - I know quite a bit of history about TS. Peter Hustler and his wife have had her offshore, twice. Peter gave a great talk to the multi club about 10 years ago and i’ve got his slides somewhere still I think. Ballistic was a whole heap of work when I bought her too - I’m probably the last egit to refurb a T in NZ. Things like that hole are minor, a full repaint, re canvas etc is where the big bucks will be neeeded, as well as somewhere to do the work - I reckon you’d want to have her out for a good 12 months. Your welcome to have a look at ours - currently out at Panmure. Can a
  17. Zozza, Your second route is correct. DO NOT attempt the first at any tide - I have walked a fair distance between the two channels! To avoid confusion - in my screen shot - green route is okay - brown route is not. ( the north route is also okay but suggest you study it - in person!) It’s far less scary when you are passing through than depicted on the charts - straight lining the Bouys is quite normal! The north channel is also quite easy to pass at mid to high tide but suggest you motor through it first to u derstmad the angles. Spend a few hours observing this piece of water and
  18. a peice of 4x2, wedges of various sizes and a car jack should give you all the force you need!

    Mr X

Intriguing - the piece doesn't even mention why Mr. X's name is suppressed. More dodgyness in the marine industry none the less! http://nzh.tw/12125369
  20. forrest . . . . match . . . one . . .
  21. Good ol Robbie still carving it up! The no pumping only existed in the first few Olympics when windsurfing first entered - back in Bruce Kendall’s day. As a consequence most course racing here also ran that rule. I had no idea they still had the indoor circuit running - would have thought the H&S proletariat in Europe would have shut that down by now!
  22. yawn - the cumulative Ahr of batteries that passengers carry on to a flight would deem this sort of nonsense - well - nonsens!
