  1. Straight to the manufacturer - here you go.. I know they make it as MrsVB sells them their raw products... https://jasol.co.nz/product/phos-42/
  2. Petrol isn't so bad if you have the vents systems etc to deal with it. Power to weight wise and Yam 9.9 high thrusts are the go-to option for that power range for cats. If you wanted to go bigger the next step up is the Honda 20hp. Yam also do a High thrust 25 which is what we've got on VB.
  3. How about posting a response we can all cut and paste into the submission form.
  4. Correct, its called Unlease space and #1 Son works there helping students with their projects, (in between his own lectures) they have a lot of very cool equipment to play with. Also, I should add, you can't just rock on up there and expect your "project" to be done for you, they dont work like that. Its a student oriented thing - the best option is to find an engineering student that can create the appropriate cut file and have them manage the item for you. Mat has just recently made on their 3d printer some replacement impellors for Navman speedos (currently being tested in action to see
  5. Mmost canopy fittings with grub screws have a reasonable point on them so dont bother with a hole. If you get keen you can whack it with a dot punch in the appropriate spot.
  6. Wheels may be interesting but catamaran trampolines are really where its at, I submit....

    Tool Kit

Any farm boy will tell you fencing pliers can do most things, wire cutters, pliers, hammer, spikey bit for driving pins through and more. They are available in stainless steel too.
  8. These are what I use for those jobs.. a proprietary Sunbrella cleaner. and this stuff is the same waterproofing that the basic fabric is treated with from new
  9. Its fine to use on sunbrella, dont leave it on too long and make sure you rinse it off. The black spots take a bit of scrubbing with a hard brush but they can be dealt to with a bit of effort. Before you re-proof it investigate whether it needs to be restitched as the thread dies from UV exposure long before the fabric begins to deteriorate. The easy test is to put the tip of a car key, nail or similar object underneath one of the sewn threads on the outside and if that thread breaks easily have it redone.
  10. We've been through this a few times now. ... The answer is like most boat related maintenance things, it can be a DIY job, problem is it will look like a DIY job. http://crew.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic/15881-autex-flex-for-interior-lining/

    CANTAC

Yeah, got the luxury of a 25m thick foam core deck so condensation isn't a consideration.

Thats the stuff i usually use except I get these (see below) as i already have the hose and gun set up. Its great stuff, easy to use and not so whiffey inside a boat. The very words I used when son #1 wanted to do it himself lining in his new camper van were- pre cut the fabric panels oversize and trim the excess off as you go, dont spray too much glue on, work from the centre outwards when putting panels up and chop to shape as you go, use a firm pressure to push the fabric onto the receiving panel as the glue is pressure sensitive and it sticks like the proverbial sh*t to a blanket, work
  13. ...and this was while rafted up alongside Pulse - a Pink Floyd video projected onto our rolled out headsail during one of the many night time raft up entertainment sessions, it was usually dark - the flash was used just to show the rig etc. cant seem rotate the pic sorry.....
  14. We get this kind of stuff at Little Shoal Bay boatyard. Its your right to know who complained particularly if it effects the whole club and that quickly builds up a file of who/when/why they complained. After a while a pattern emerges - usually one or two people with an agenda. If they complain lots follow up the "vexatious complainants" procedure and after a while those that receive the complaints know they what is going on and just ignore them. Either that or https://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news/article.cfm?c_id=2&objectid=12105742.
  15. Get on the Autex website, they have a list. Or buy it through a local trim/canvas shop who may have an account with them. Make sure you use a clear base contact glue not the brown stuff like Ados F2, its easy to put too much contact adhesive on the fabric and this can show through in some light conditions. .
  16. The Flex 2 from Autex is stretchier and easier to shape into curved surfaces than the R&T stuff.
  17. Does this mast base rest on the main beam or does it sit slightly above the main beam and rely on the strap to hold it up. The latter is common practice. It could be you need to tighten the strap and use heaps more mainsheet tension. What purchase have you got? Does it go to winches?
  18. A clear PVC window plastic velcroed together to make a sock works well. The plastic slides on the stainless and is soft on the sail but will eventually chafe through., when they get too chewed up toss and replace. Compact and and easy to carry a few spares.
  19. What about the rogue arrow attacks reported a while back, surely that must be an increased insurance risk.
  20. Autosol is the polish of choice for the professional polishers on the big $$ boats.
  21. Heres another one thats similar, I spotted this emerging from the ex-Cookson factory just now. Its either a cool lightweight keelboat or Sanders Sheds are using the wrong plans. Any one know anything about this one?
  22. The results of that effort really needs a photo but I reckon it was a complete waste of time . I'll get a pic when Im there over the weekend. It has left the "beach" as unusable as it ever was and a bald patch of mud with the vertical root-sprouts bits still poking out of the mud and hardly appealing.
