  1. Yes, have emailed them but no reply. May call them Monday. Were they priced ok? Greg Elliott said they are now eye watering expensive to what they used to charge.
  2. Kawerau only do TP52 bulbs or bigger...
  3. Where is the go to place for casting a bulb at a reasonable price now Mike Rees castings has sold up?
  4. Also up the Weiti River there is a haul out yard that has a crane which would also be able to haul you. https://www.hibiscusmarineandstorage.co.nz/ Have no experience with the contractors up there.
  5. Am pretty sure Gulf Harbour can lift you. Believe my parents cat is 27feet wide and they can haul there. Also Hibiscus marine coatings are a great company to work with who are based at Gulf Harbour.
  6. Paint is to protect the Carbon from the UV. Ours is clear coated but still need to store out of sunlight or use a cover as suggested as the UV does break down the clear coat so paint is better/less high maintenance.
  7. Sounds like Ronstan, I wouldn't bother rebuilding them. I had same on my old boat and replaced, Harken sell them.
  8. Of course it is! You guys know your boat very well and know how to sail her fast in all conditions! you deserved your result in the RNI and hopefully over the coming years we can get to know Kick as good as you.
  9. Need an advantage over over you some how Ken...
  10. We wouldn’t be going heavier, at the most we would keep same weight but go deeper to achieve the increased righting moment but as you say meed to know the increased loads on rig and floors etc. have had a few price break downs sent through which has been very helpful and gives le a rough idea of cost to now work o
  11. Would sound about right, im thinking alot of cost in design and engineering?
  12. That is a possibility, but increasing our righting moment means we could use that extra sail area rather than it being drag? am curious of the costs 10 years ago Ken
  13. Not really that interested in handicaps, already heavily penalised for our taller rig. we need to find more speed in pressure upwind and reaching forward of the beam and am struggling against the 1050’s with updated keels plus they have a smaller rating.
  14. Was interested in peoples experiences and the true cost. im not in a financial position right now for a project like this right now but just interested to see what it would be before talking to designers etc.
  15. Evening! this lockdown has given me to much time to think and have the itch or curiosity of looking into cost of upgrading keel and also if anyone have plans they are willing to share for the 1050 latest gen keel. would be interested in pushing the boundaries a bit with the std 2.3 draught and the consequences around that with keel floors and chain plates. She currently looks very strong in those areas but am not an engineer.

    New Boat

Saw her pop up on trademe and almost go under contract immediately. What is her story? Launched 2002, did she sit around for a few years as hull and decks?
  19. It is an Oem replacement of a Sanden 508. Will try post picture soon, it is fairly universal for mounting
  20. Stainless brine tanks which is insulated with 100mm of foam. Surely the brine absorbs alot of the energy instead of all the energy going into the box/food
  21. Hi Guys I have recently converted to electric with the evaporator plate and am wanting to make it more efficient. Currently it works well but could be better. Should i be emptying the brine tanks? And possibly filling the tanks with foam? Also currently only have evaporator plate mounted on the back face of the freezer box and have read it is more efficient to have it mounted on 2 faces. These evaporator plates can be bent so going to look into that. Interested in your thoughts. Thanks
  22. B&G is great, wouldnt recommend Vulcan as it is only touch and with cold wet hands you get frustrated with it really quick but if it is just for cruising could be ok. We have a full b&g system and what it can do is endless but have settled with the zeus 3 as it has buttons for those cold wet nights
  23. I check engine regularly as i do all servicing etc so no issue there, caught a loose bolt on our trip back from barrier.
  24. If it is in reasonable condition definately interested!
