Old Girl 0
Dunedin City. Interesting day today, Monday, no work, everything rather white, white and more white and rather cold. Inside closed off front porch only 5deg this morning. Hate to think what it is outside. Not keen to find out. Thank goodness for heat pumps until the power goes down. Lots of power down around area. All toasty warm here, and mostly sheltered from the strong winds. Got to love it.
TimB 7
Good luck with a heat pump once the temperature drops to near zero, they work as a heater by having the "fridge part" outside ........in the cold....not much heat transfer when its too cold outside so no warming going on inside..... brrr

Fitted one to the chalet in National Park. Brilliant. Works in any conditions. Warms the whole place up in 20 minutes

Ours work just fine at -5 degrees, not even going into defrost cycles in a noticeable fashion. Far more useful than a gas fire which froze the regulator whenever the outside temp dropped below about -3. I have been in houses with heatpumps with outdoor temps below -10 degrees and the house stays nice and warm.
Black Panther 1,568
I try to avoid any place where the temperature drops below 0, 20 is even better.
wheels 543
Better put on an extra pair of woolly socks BP. They are talking Frosts for Auckland tomorrow morning. -2 for Whenuapai.
