grantmc 59
Wednesday, 1 oct, will be the sailing documentary Deep Water. The film tells the tale of the first ever round the world yacht race in 1968. The race was sponsored by the Sunday Times paper. As well as the incredible story of the race, this doco makes a feature of one of the entrants; Donald Crowhurst. Crowhurst sailed a nightmare race through confusion into madness and ultimately ended up in Davie Jones locker. This film is somewhat more serious than our usual comedy sailing adventures. Of course the bar will be open at 7. Oh and I have a really good short feature to play before Deep Water (from 7 till 8 ), but I can't tell you more as it's a secret. Everyone in the sailing community is welcome so come along, bring friends and family. If you've never visited our Club it is at the entrance to the Seaview Marina, Port Road, Lower Hutt (here's a chance to have a nosy). Price FREE
