Guest
The spoon bow alloy boat must be a development of this mini. http://www.voilesetvoiliers.com/les-vid ... ison-scow/ This raced with some success if memory is correct.
Black Panther 1,581
Technically as Scow I would call it. they are raced successfully in the Great Lakes Area and are supposedly very fast. After that mini did it's thing someone tried making a small cruiser along the same lines. Got a really big double bed for a little boat https://plus.google.com/photos/11620981 ... banner=pwa

Guest
I am warming to the French Revolution 22. Take a virtual tour. http://www.visualboat.fr/nautic-2013/page/2/ 2 double grunters and a separate bog along with a lie down cockpit all in 22ft. Imagine what you could do in a 32ft with the same design
Guest
Designed by Logan, built in 1948 in NZ, a world champion boat in the hands of Alf Locke and mates That photo taken on her relaunch in 06 The mighty Komutu. Skimmers, ya have to love em.

Island Time 1,227
I just really cannot see them going into a head sea at all well, unless it's virtually flat!
Guest
The Volkscruiser gets my vote. Here a vid of 3Teamworks minis in action.

Guest
I think the RM 1070 has a lot going for it as a potential couples cruising boat. Yup, I know home builds are a thing of the past, but given the ridiculous price of yachts both new and second hand in this country and the limited and aged locally designed stock there could well be a rise in demand for a simplified plywood design such as this IMHO http://www.rm-yachts.com/rm-1070 Fast and light. Nice sized galley. Heaps of storage. Crapper is nicely sited out of the saloon and galley. It is very bad feng shui to have crapper near source of food or conversation. Twin keels version would not require a cradle. Plywood construction. But would have to lose all those square hull windows asap.
Black Panther 1,581
I don't do French - is that a centreboard version I see? Even Better.
waikiore 398
Sure is, that's their Milford Creek version- what a cool boat.
waikiore 398
Cant see a Kiwi builder doing the RM12.6 for $360,000 sailaway though! Good on the frogs for bringing production savings to ply epoxy boats.
Island Time 1,227
I like the idea. The 40 ftr looks pretty cool. And if it is glassed both sides, it's a timber composite not ply, right!
Guest
BP, why exactly do you not do "French" and is that girls or boats or both. Centre boarders with attached kick up rudders I would consider to be a low design priority in this part of the world as there is definitely no water shortage out there along the coast. Here is a new local 12m build being marketed for nearly $600K. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boats-m ... 979314.htm Compared to the RM1260 price and kit wise I certainly know where my loot would go. Black Panther 1,581
I have always liked the idea of minimum draught for cruising (says he with 2.7m underneath )
