ScottiE 174
Fantastic! Hope dad is a bit heavier - waterline looks a little out for that payload! Oh I could ask a about the missing PFD, means of communication, quick release tether etc etc - but I won't!
Guest 000
Nice job. Great to see those traditional boatbuilding skills still being practised.
Fish 0
Finally worked out how to attach photos, So here is a few photos of the 4" Skylark I built for the kids last summer. Kids love it. Small enough to fit in the boot of the car. Light, haven't weighed it, but I can carry it with one hand (handy when going from the carpark to the beach), maybe 12 or 14 kg. Surprisingly stable in small surface and chop down at the beach. Very easy to build. Most of the time is in finishing and painting it. I'm keen to build a bigger one like the Skylark 8, to use as a tender, and so the kids can sail it when they are big enough. http://www.selway-fisher.com/Skylarkup13.htm#YL The nutshell pram looks really good for this type of work as well http://www.woodenboatstore.com/category/nutshell_pram Just have to convince the missus to let me do another project boat. Myjane 40
I have done the same , plans say copper wire. So I used small cable ties and some fishing line you will find copper to stiff in areas and it dominates the ply to much and you spend time having to even up the ply , cable ties quicker ,
