BboySlug 0
Hi all, I'm a Hobie 16 sailor from America. I've noticed since arriving in Auckland that the cat sailors don't tend to race the same regattas as much as they do together in America and in Aussie. Would like to get someone from each fleet (Paper tigers, Weta, A-class, H16, and other beach cat classes) together, with our regatta schedules and discuss. I've already had much interest from the Weta, H16, and A-class guys. Anybody else want to join us? Still looking for a Paper tiger rep, so far their fleet leads have been pretty aloof. If we can get some more regattas and a better community, and maybe a Xmas party etc. next year, I think it would really help all things multihull in the future. Hopefully we can get the fleet leads together sometime in January. Cheers, -Evan
MarkMT 68
Hope you're successful... I also race a cat in the US - an F16, and outside national champs, open fleet racing, or at least combined events with multiple starts in the case of classes with very different ratings, is the norm. It makes for bigger fleets, lower costs and more fun.
