Fantastic idea, and I'm glad they've got the funding nailed.

Parking might become a bit scarce around westhaven in summer now though....

Either Wilson's will make a fortune towing people from yellow spaces, or I wouldn't be at all surprised to see barrier arms go in for the yellow areas, which will of course require a "nominal" increase in fees to maintain the infrastructure.

Ah well, can't have everything, but I hope this gets built as soon as possible.

Pleased that the ratepayer is not shouldering the brunt of the cost.

The difference between cyclists and sailors is fatty sea creatures wack on foulies and are far more modest in demeanour whilst cyclists flaunt all their wobbly bits wrapped in Lycra.

Should be some robust public decency laws introduced.

Great news it's finally got the green light.  Thanks to all the people that have spent endless hours over the last decade pushing the case.  It wouldn't have happened without them.

Told my 6 and 8 year olds that they were building a bike path and they were very excited.

Unfortunately I'd not be surprised if the oldest was nearly a teenager by the time it's done.

Also see the Northcote residents association (I'm sure there's only about 6 people in that suburb against it) are still beating the drum it's a catastrophe in the making.

But hey, why let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Maybe if more people rode bikes more often there would be less wobbly bits...

It's not the exercise, its what you consume that causes the wobbly bits, and there is no way I'm.giving up my rum

The city has been emasculated with unused poorly conceived cycle ways.

Always thought it was a health oxymoron cycling in heavily polluted areas.

Bit like the walkway that straddles Westhaven, right smack next door to a motorway duh if you can see the crap that collects on my princess it makes me wonder what is collecting in your lungs whilst hyperventilating and transporting your wobbly bits around there by bike.

I'm pretty sure rum isn't causing any wobbly bits on anyone.

The megacalories you get from the coke I assume you mix it with, there's a whole wobbly bit in each glass... ;-)

Riding a bike isn't just good for your wobbly bits though, there's just as much benefit to the top two inches as the middle 6 inches and that's every bit as valuable.

Remember how much fun you had riding a bike as a kid, it's no different when you're old enough to have kids/grandkids of your own.

From 15 million to 67 million to 100 million by the time it is built.

And at the lose of yet another place boaties can pull their boats out without being financially raped. The Gold Hole will go so they can put a footpath in there instead.
