Bad Kitty 249
Try & ignore your aversion to power boats for a minute, I'm looking for a monohull launch, around 50 foot, twin jet powered, capable of 25 + knots that I can use to film some wake shots of for a couple of days. Anyone seen anything aroaund lately? Rum or other suitable rewards for a successful tip off! Ta,
Black Panther 1,566
I know of a 50ft fizzy with twin stern drives. Just tilt them up a bit and hey presto.
darkside 61
Wrong number of hulls and I think shafts but you could film at that speed all the way to Fiji with this. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/boats-marine/motorboats/auction-1847372031.htm?rsqid=4948a932d2cb49e2b6aa11c946e384ac

Ta though, hadn't realised it was back on the market.

Bad Kitty 249
Auckland Airport Rescue Services has a Cat and a Mono, both are running twin jets. Thanks Bondage Guy, forgot about that,

Or more? Yesterday she traveled from Tauranga to Wellington in 17 hours at an average speed of 27 knots.
Bad Kitty 249
Just under 6 litres/nautical mile, about 140 litres an hour. But same l/nm from something like 18 knots to 30 knots. Awesome boats, Roger Hill designed, mostly Pachoud built. If you ever go to the dark side this is the way to do it!
muzled 140
Ouch! But have to say, being out the Barrier in 2hrs would be pretty cool! Not really my cup of tea but still a pretty cool machine and even at that cost must be way under what it cost to build.
darkside 61
I have a considerably more modest Hill cat and for sure the Barrier in 2 hours is no problem. Mine is 2.6l/nm I met Voodoo in Napier, we were heading north, they south. They wanted to know how far out the cray pots were off Palliser as they wanted to cut the corner. Speed seemed to be an obsession. Sorry for the thread drift, my bad, kitty.
khayyam 68
continuing the drift, I doubt that 6l/nm is an issue if you can drop 2 mil on a boat. also, l/nm is a fantastically terrible set of units.
marinheiro 352
Not jets, but I have a 14m launcb parked beside me with twin surface drives, which leave a pretty similar wake to jets.
