Rubber Rubbing strip

Hi Folks,

I have a 7m Fibreglass Catalina 7.  The wooden rubbing strip covering the join between the deck and the hull has rotted. I would love to replace it with a rubber profile rather than laminating some timber.

Does anyone know where I can get some of this from?

Thanks but it requires about 50mm of cover and needs to cover the join that protrudes 20mm laterally and 10mm vertically. I still have the brass strip that covered the timber but was hoping for something simpler.

Rubber doesnt last, I ended up after several lots of rubber going to off the shelf anotised alloy...was lighter and worked a treat

There are different variations of rubber so vulcanised stuff probably would be OK. Tugs and wharves use old car tyres and they seem to last for ever. Just be mindful of rafting up to others lovely shinny topsides!

RicardoZ -  I have a Catalina 7 also and the teak rail is starting to rot (and more importantly, I suspect is allowing water to penetrate the hull). Am interested to know what you ended up doing on your boat.
