cj! 19
Can anyone with a Carpenter 29, Lidgard 29 or a Whiting 29 tell me what the headroom is in the cabin and the head of their yacht? I keep coming across a variety of measurements and would like to know what they actually are.
Vivaldi 53
I’m just on 6 foot and can get around easily in the cabin - and can stand at full height while cooking on a Carpenter 29.. have to crouch in the areas forward of the bulkhead though. I’m biased but the Carpenter is the best out of the three - open transom makes a huge difference when cruising and they sail well, nice and stiff boat for a family
madyottie 82
Sorry to hijack the thread somewhat, but how do the three compare speed wise? The Carpenter is my favourite all time displacement yacht, I spent a few evenings racing on Lollipop and fell in love with it.
Kevin McCready 83
And to highjack further. Easterly 30 headroom?
Young Entertainer 59
I had the Lidgard 29 AWOL, brilliant boat at the time, roomy, good head room 1.8ish, and probably the quickest of the three mentioned. Plenty of power from the 18hp diesel.
cj! 19
After a couple of Carpenters have been measured it seems they have a 1.8m headroom.
Norwester 3
Davidson 29 has standing head room all the way forward to the Head and open transom. It would be a great boat for NZ.
Norwester 3
There is a Davidson 29 design in the US that has standing headroom thru to the Head and an open transom. It would be a great boat for NZ.
