I realized that the mainsheet is actually limited by the safety lines and not the car position, so I could get away with a shorter one. That opened up a great solution. Only drawback I could see is that you lose the chance to use the extra traveler length for flattening the main in heavy wind, or vang sheeting type downwind sailing. The 830 being a big planing dinghy in heavy winds!
