S.M.U. 15
Thirsty work has apparently lost her rudder. Whats happened to Monotone, T-Rex and Carpe Diem?
waikiore 397
V5 at 32 knots on one sector! Mayhem led the race boats out of the harbour at pace, that Beau Geste certainly is a weapon
Fish 0
Truxton's rudder went bang too. I'm trying to see Monotone through the telescope (according to where their tracker says he is) but its too damn hazy to see a thing today.
splashprincess 16
And what's happened to Toy Story? Back at Bucks according to the tracker?
S.M.U. 15
Monotone and t rex apparently rudder issues as well
Young Entertainer 59
Heard that Golden Pond Lost its rig but is back at Gulf Harbour
Fish 0
Heard that Golden Pond Lost its rig but is back at Gulf Harbour Its tracker looked like something like that happened. Was doing 0.3 knts in a spot between Rangi and GH for a long time. Tracker shows it back in GH now. He was solo wasn't he?
Young Entertainer 59
he was so I imagine that was a tough day at the office if he did lose it, having to get it cut away solo
waikiore 397
Beau Geste broken the record? about 5 hours exactly
Fish 0
I've no official information, but based on the tracker the are within minutes of the record, its a bit hard to tell with the accuracy of the tracker either way. They might have... it'll be a close thing
splashprincess 16
New race record according to official FB site. Beau Geste 12 mins and 44 seconds quicker than the old Voda/Frank Racing.
waikiore 397
Considering Vodafone started earlier on her record year I would say Beau Geste has easily got it.
Fish 0
Monotone broke her rudder. Safely anchored in a calm and sunny Sullivans Bay. Thats 3 that I know of, all transom hung I believe?
splashprincess 16
Monototone and Truxton both transom hung. Both Golden Pond and Monotone were in the Solo Division too.
splashprincess 16
This isn't just me seeing things - is Motorboat II in front of Miss Scarlet on the tracker?
Fish 0
Black Hornet is the last boat showing on the tracker, doing 5.5 knts heading into Bream Bay. Thats the mini 6.50 skippered by the para-sailor. Doesn't have the use of his legs so has a canting driver's seat installed. Big ups to him, certainly testing conditions for your first big race in a little boat.
waikiore 397
They left the start looking the business and havent buttoned off, all we need now is some modern IMOCA types this wind angle would have had them smoking till the Brett
