Dock lines

Recommended Posts

8 strand is better. But more expensive and harder to splice. It's better because it is less susceptible to cyclic loading failure. But that is rarely an issue in dock lines, as they are normally well oversized strength wise. IMO.

Call Chains Ropes and Anchors (Knot Me here on crew) They are the importers/suppliers of most of the rope that comes into NZ . They can give you all the info you need on sizing etc. They can even go to the Marina and make the lines to suit right there in the spot. That way they are perfect. Or you can measure yourself and get them to make to length you specify
