Rubber rub strip

Recommended Posts

I have the two back corners of a rubber rub strip (black) slightly damaged and I want to repair them to enhance the look of the boat. I have lightly sanded them and need a product to bring back the shine?

Any suggestions Thanks

The silicon stuff they spray on Tires to shine then up after the tire shop has worked on them?
Otherwise you may need to polish the surface with a buff pad on a drill and some cutting compound.

Thanks Wheels I heard you could sand the area then use a heat gun to bring back the gloss but couldn't find any info on that repair.   Maybe yours might repair is the way to go.Thanks

If it is rubber, heat won't change it.
If it is a plastic, then yes, but you have to be VERY careful because you are actually melting the surface and it goes from "nearly there to oh B#$(@#&r in a fraction of a second. And if it goes wrong, there is no fixing it.
