“metropolitan media class that has become so self-important that it is blind to its own biases,

confused about the difference between opinion and facts,

and increasingly hysterical when it doesn’t get its way”.

Hi MH.....RNZ is so left leaning  they are permanently on Starboard !

No media bias here. NZ media  regularly report Jacinda Ardern and her promise to have the most open, honest and transparent government NZ has ever seen .

Every so often a story comes up on the herald that I have a bit of background knowledge about, and it never ceases to amaze me how much they can misrepresent some facts, goop’s over others  and blindly ignore one half of the conversation just to cause outrage and try to stir public opinion.

i can only assume they do this on every story that is an attack piece or has some sort of controversy in order to make the story in the first place.

I don’t get that feeling with RNZ though, they seem to have a little more journalistic professionalism.

the quote is british and in response to a bbc media takedown of a boris aide

https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/05/27/it-was-emily-maitlis-who-broke-the-rules/

https://www.economist.com/britain/2020/06/04/why-conservatives-have-embraced-victimhood

but the quote does seem to fit many countries where media pundits seem to prefer to believe the echos in their chamber over objective journalism

then scream the loudest in an attempt to cut through their competitors noise

would you give an uptick for that but currently my crew functionality won't let me; vote anything, fully use the block functions, post photos and navigate between the pages of a thread

but back on topic

we even see small news outlets attacking big news outlets for publishing what politicians say

Much like crew.nz the New York Times is a private business, and as such

is not obligated in any way whatsoever to publish anything that they find objectionable.

Tom Cotton is as close as you can get to being a fascist, and he gave a fascist screed in the Times

Let the Nazis pay for their own media. Cotton wrote, . .

calling in the military to “address protests and demonstrations”
